The Eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day at Shaharit—An Event on the Holocaust and Remembrance: From Morocco to the USSR

More than 100 people attended an event on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day 2016, which was entitled The Untold Story: From Morocco to the USSR that Shaharit organized together with MK Rachel Azaria (Kulanu).

The event addressed additional perspectives on Holocaust remembrance in Israeli society.

Journalist Ron Cahlili discussed the place of Mizrahi identity in relation to the Holocaust as defining Israeliness.

“120” fellow and social activist Sagit Peretz-Deri spoke about the Jews of Morocco during World War II and their treatment under Mohammed V.

Helen Bochmansky presented the story of the Holocaust in the former Soviet Union, and Rabbi Dubi Hayoun discussed the Holocause in Tunisia and Libya.
