From its inception, Shaharit has built programmatic platforms that allowed a plethora of groups to come together, groups that represent constituencies or contentious issues that are critical to building common cause between seemingly disparate groups in Israeli society. These groups have allowed Shaharit to expand its reach exponentially, allowing us—using the language of the Harvard sociologist Robert Putnam—to build both bonding capital within communities, and bridging capital between communities.
