Tradition and Human Rights

A working group between liberal human rights activists, traditional Mizrahim, and ultra-religious Mizrahi rabbis and educators. They are exploring their shared values and how to bridge the gap between traditional, religious, particularistic values and modern, secular, universalistic ones.

As part of Shaharit’s conference on on the future of Israeli Liberalism, which was held on November 1st and 2nd, 2015,  the members of the Working Group – made up of staff members from the Shas educational system and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel – held a panel discussion regarding their conclusions from the program and where they see a politics of the common good in Israel developing.
